Simon Montmory is a certified climbing instructor (French National Diploma), coach, and passionate climber who has been guiding and coaching on Kalymnos for 18 years. He loves sharing his experience with climbers of all levels, combining encouragement and challenge to help them improve their climbing skills and gain confidence on the rock — always with energy and enthusiasm.

Simon’s passion for climbing began 30 years ago in the Alps around Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Since then, he has traveled the world to climb in China, Spain, Italy, Canada, southern France, and Greece.

In 2008, Simon obtained his climbing instructor diploma, the highest and most specialized qualification in France for climbing instructors. A year later, he founded his climbing school on Kalymnos, captivated by the island’s landscapes, sunshine, and climbing potential.

Today, climbers from all over the world join Simon’s courses and coaching sessions to learn, train, and have fun. He knows the island intimately and selects the perfect routes for each climber. As a climber, Simon onsights up to 8a and redpointed 8c, and he has also set over 300 routes on Kalymnos, Telendos, and Leonidio.

Simon organizes climbing courses and personalized coaching in Kalymnos, Verdon Gorges (France), and Leonidio (Greece). In Leonidio, he works as a climbing consultant for the municipality, assisting with route maintenance, safety, and the development of climbing tourism.

Born in Canada, Myriam Caissy Montmory discovered her passion for foreign languages while traveling the world at 18. She holds a degree in International Studies & Modern Languages from Laval University (Québec) and a master’s degree from Stendhal University (Grenoble, France). She also studied Chinese in China, Spanish in Spain, and now Greek on Kalymnos!

Myriam is a language teacher, translator, and manager of Kalymnos Climbing Guide alongside Simon. For her, climbing is more than a sport — it’s a way of life: a way to travel, challenge herself, discover the most beautiful natural landscapes, and meet people from around the world. On Kalymnos and Leonidio, she found it all.
